Just returned from our 4th consecutive annual visit to fish with John on the Yorkshire Derwent. The visit starts with a warm welcome and a cup of tea at fisherman's' cottage. What a wonderful location, with miles of river containing many free rising wild trout, ranging in size from about 6 inches up to about 14 inches. Also there is a sprinkling of sizeable grayling that add a touch of variety. John always seems to keep us in the right areas and freely gives his advice on the choice of flies ,and any gaps in your fly box are soon filled. With Johns vast experience of the Derwent Anglers Club and the river, he has a wealth of knowledge on the history of the club, along with some of its past members. A visit to the Derwent and fishing with John is one of our angling highlights of the year.
